OUR STORY
Behind Laughing Tansy
Laughing Tansy was founded by Amanda Hall and Chelsea Haddad, in order to make the skincare that they wanted but couldn’t find - balancing and nourishing oil-based skincare that harnesses the healing compounds found in plants.
This line was inspired by both the benevolent gifts of the plant world and our traditional wellness system of herbal medicine. Looking at classical herbal recipes and modern research, Chelsea and Amanda carefully chose and infused plants into all of our products to help support your skin’s maximum health and vitality.
In 2024, the co-founders decided to hang up their hats and hand over the reins to Ashley Murphy, a clinical herbalist from Augusta, GA. Ashley shares the same dedication to utilizing clean ingredients and providing safe and effective botanical products for you all. Today, Laughing Tansy products are produced and packaged in the new skincare lab in Augusta.

Herbalist Formulated
Co-Founder Chelsea Haddad earned her master’s degree in therapeutic herbalism and has studied clinical herbalism for over a decade, bringing with her to Laughing Tansy the knowledge to develop safe, yet impactful, products. The company is emphasizing their outlook on the importance of loving yourself and supporting healthy skin function, a rebuttal to the inescapable anti-aging messages that flood their industry.
Our Process
How Our Products Are Made
We keep your skin in mind the whole way through. Our 3 step process starts with formulation, choosing a combination of high quality oils, herbs, and resins that are rich in beneficial nutrients and phytochemicals to support overall skin health as well as specific skin concerns.
These nourishing botanicals are then infused into oil for several weeks to months to extract their beneficial properties. Botanicals are then strained out, leaving an oil rich in phytonutrients to feed skin.
Our last step is to combine these ingredients together to create synergistic blends to leave the skin soothed, nourished, and healthy.

What is herbal skincare?
Herbs have been used for thousands of years for their healing properties.
Using herbs puts us in touch with nature and our primal self. Not only can herbs be healing for the body, they can also support our emotions and spiritual well-being. Sustainable self love is vital to our mental and emotional health.
Chelsea, our herbalist, formulates our products carefully choosing herbs to nourish our skin to and enhance our sense of wellbeing.
Is there a way to include a note for an order shipping as a gift?

Is that real amber floating in my bottle?
Yes!! That's real amber! We add amber pieces to both our Amber Glow oil face serum and our 24 Carrot oil eye serum! Amber comes in all different shapes and colors. We have added it in for a continuous infusion. We also love our little Amber chunks because they add a little something special. We hope you enjoy!
Where are Laughing Tansy products made?
We hand make everything in small batches out of our lab in Augusta, Ga!
How do I store my products?
Our products are best stored away from direct sunlight and below 25C.
During warm weather, it is normal for the butters to become a little runnier and slight separation of oils to occur.
If your balm becomes grainy or has white specks don't worry one bit! That is shea butter and it is totally safe to use! Once it hits your skin it will melt like normal. If you want to bring back the smoother texture here's what you can do! Make sure the cap on the jar is on tight and place it in shallow bowl of hot water. Place the balm in the fridge once it has complexly liquified. This will restore it to its original, smooth and silky texture.
